Bible texts: Isaiah 55:10  Genesis 15:5-18 When our Lord Jesus Christ walked the earth, in several of His parables, He used the principles of farming to teach His disciples about how God’s Kingdom operates. It is, therefore important for us to operate the Knowledge of farming principles in our quest to obtain a good harvest from Gods kingdom. Isaiah 55:10 gives us some insight in this regard. “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not tither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater”. From this verse of scripture, we understand that God is the one who gives seed to the sower. He gives you seed and expects you to sow it. Never eat your seed! Even physical seeds usually taste bitter or unpalatable to the taste but because they were not designed to be eaten in the first place.

Years ago, a lady met a beggar on her way to work. Sadly, she was down to her last DIME. For straight 4 months, the company owed the peanut she was entitled to as salary.  Meager means of livelihood but she still had to work daily clinging to the hope that she will get something better. Rushing out, she met this beggar asking for help. “If you can sow into my life now, I would be glad”, she thought. On a second thought, she decided to give him ₦20 but surprisingly, she has spent that too except her Transport fare and launch. “Sorry man, I don’t have anything for you today.” She said and went on.   “Go back and give him that ₦100”, the Spirit of God said loud and. “No, No, No….. Way God, not this ₦100.” She said. “It’s too big to give out to a beggar and you know it is the last cash for my Launch. Or do you really want me to fry today?”

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day, a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then, it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no further. So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily, but it had a swollen body and small, shrivelled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened! 

Happy New Year! As the joyous shout echoed around, I sat clueless of what to write on. Just couldn’t  put words to my thoughts so, I decided to shut down and a take a break.It paid off because then the Holy Spirit stepped in. One major thing in every one’s mind now is how to make 2017 better and more fruitful than 2016. We all want to be richer, influential, get admission, receive promotion letter, get married, have kids, make a positive impact globally, achieve purpose and in fact, excel in all our endeavors.  Most of us understand these to be the overall definition of “God’s Grace and Favor”. So, when we hear that this year will be the year when we will please the Lord, the year when we will grow in the knowledge and understanding of the Lord. A year when the Lord will reveal Himself to us in an unusual dimension. A year when we will experience the Lord, have the tangibility of God’s presence in our lives and grow deeper in the knowledge of our Lord,...

I have been looking forward to this year and exceptionally happy now that it is here. Maybe it is because " 7 " is my favourite number or because am very certain that this year will be a memorable one, filled with testimonies, new dance steps and new songs. So, Get ready!
