Be Still and Know that I am the Lord
We've all had our moments of pain, sorrow, disappointments and even depression.
A couple of years back, I was speaking to a friend going through tough times, was at the verge of giving up and throwing in the towel. It was difficult to believe.
Few months later I understood the saying that" Words are cheap" because I plunged into mine head long. Trust me, It was far from being funny. I felt deserted, lonely and confused.
Jobs predicament became clearer; it seemed unfair that I was passing through such whilst living for Christ. I was questions personified, I kept asking God 'Is this how'? 'Is this how You will bring to pass Your promises'?
Then I stumbled upon the Bible quotation that says, "Be still and know that I am God" Psalm 46 vs 10. How on earth was I supposed to do that when I felt left out, trampled upon, embarrassed and unloved. To me It was near impossible.
But I later learnt that God has Plans for me. Plans of good and not of evil, to give me a future and a hope. " I had to keep calm, shut out all the buzzing, hectic & doubtful voices in my head and Listened.
Then I heard Him!
I heard the Small voice of Comfort and I felt His hand leading me in my valley of the shadow of death.
Thereafter, I was able to acknowledge His Power and I came to understand that God will be exalted among the nations and exalted in the earth no matter the circumstances and my breakthrough came about at His own time not mine.
* Reading of Inspirational Fictional Novels and the Bible- Novels by Francine Rivers, Karen Kingsbury, Ted Dekker and the like were life-saving instruments. God used those fictional characters to talk to my Spirit. I was able to relate with them. The constant use of Bible quotations led me to read more of God's word- The Bible. I was literally thirsty.
*Christian Music and Films- The Bible made it clear that the joy of the Lord is our Strength. Do not doubt it. Learn to sing Praise and Worship Songs when you are down.
*Sharing with Experienced and God fearing people- A problem shared is a problem half solved. Since I am an introvert, I found it really difficult to open up to a third party. But trust me, when I finally did* after much observation and prayer* I came out fine.
For now, let me pause, and give you time to think about it. In whatever situation you may be going through, now is the time to pause, take a deep breath, keep calm and cast your mind back to the wonderful deeds God has done for you in the past. He never Changes.
He is the same a million years ago, same today 24th Feb, 2016 and will still be the same when you are old and wrinkled. So please don't give up on him. You will see how the puzzle fits in in the right time. Try to Praise him even in that Storm!
We would Love to hear from you. Please do comment.

Underlisted were some of the Rungs in the Ladder I used to climb out
*Prayers- I must confess that this didn't come naturally like before. They became shorter and shorter. But I tried to remember what I know to be true during my darkest period.
