TODAY'S WORD FOR TODAY ‘This day is a day of good news, and we remain silent.’ 2 Kings 7:9 The Syrian army had surrounded the city of Samaria and nothing could get in or out. It was a desperate situation. Eventually the inhabitants began starving to death. Four lepers who’d been quarantined and forced to live outside the city walls decided to go into the Syrian camp hoping to find mercy, and maybe food and water. But when they got there they discovered an army of angels had scattered the Syrians, who fled leaving behind food, water, clothing, and treasure. These four men couldn’t believe their good fortune! They ate, drank, exchanged their rags for fine clothing, gathered treasure and hid it where they could find it later. Then they remembered that in Samaria their own people were hungry, thirsty, needy, sick, and dying. And they were faced with the dilemma: Do we keep this all to ourselves, or share it with those who need it as much as we do? ‘Then they said to one another...

TODAY'S WORD FOR TODAY ‘So Moses brought their case before the LORD.’ Numbers 27:5 When you get a reputation as a complainer, people will begin to avoid you. There’s an interesting story in the Old Testament about the five daughters of Zelophehad. Here was their problem. Their father had died in the wilderness before the Israelites entered the Promised Land. He had no sons to inherit his land, and the law didn’t allow women to receive it. Consequently, without a father, brothers, husbands, sons, or other men in their immediate family, Zelophehad’s daughters were left out completely. It wasn’t fair, but it was the law.

TODAY'S WORD FOR TODAY Don’t Use Profanity ‘Whatever is in the heart overflows into speech.’ Luke 6:45 When you resort to profanity it proves the truth of God’s Word: ‘No man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God … and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God’ (James 3:8-9 NKJV). Profane language is unbecoming to a redeemed child of God. So why do we do it? First: We lack the adequate vocabulary to express ourselves and feel we must swear in order for our words to have impact.

Is God involved in your plans? Have you involved Him in your decision making? Have you relegated Him to the background? Do you trust more in your choices than in His plans for you? Is He the key decision making factor or is He merely a spectator on the sidelines, watching and waiting to be invited in? What does it mean to let God?

TODAY'S WORD FOR TODAY ‘Study to be quiet.’ 1 Thessalonians 4:11 The UCB Word for Today - 13 Apr 2016 Dr Joe R. Brown of Rochester, Minnesota, tells of the frustration he encountered while trying to take a physical history on a patient. The man’s wife kept answering every question. Finally, Dr Brown requested that she leave the room. But after she left he discovered that her husband couldn’t speak. Calling the wife back, Dr Brown apologised for not realising the man had aphasia - loss of speech - and couldn’t speak a word. The wife was even more astonished - because she didn’t know either!

‘Do not be quickly provoked.’   Ecclesiastes 7:9 ‘…Everyone should be … slow to become angry…’  James 1:19 NIV Sometimes, Jesus got angry: ‘So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables’ (John 2:15 NIV). Money-changing was a system that made a daily habit of insulting God’s house. So Jesus had a right to be angry. We know He never sinned (1 Peter 2:22), so His anger definitely wasn’t sin. 

"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." — Galatians 6: 9 Don't grow weary in doing well, Don't surrender in the fight; Keep on storming the gates of hell, Keep on doing what you know is right. For there will be seasons of testing And there maybe weeping for a night, But soon we'll be reaping the blessing If we keep pressing on towards the prize. Lately, I have been studying the Psalms and today’s meditation took me to Psalm 73. Now, this psalm, I have obviously read before; how do I know this? I had marked my bible here but it seemed like I had never come across this chapter before.

My first visit to the Ophthalmologist was ____. He simply looked at my dad and said, "How has he been seeing in class? He can hardly see." My dad replied, "How do you mean? He led his class throughout primary school and his results have been great in the secondary school." The doctor smiled and said, "That is a miracle. His pair of glasses will be for reading and walking." You see, for the doctor who knew my condition, the fact that I was leading my class was no proof that I was seeing well. Results was not same as good health. Now you know what I am driving at- The fact that you are getting results does not mean you have gotten it right. Moses struck the rock rather than speak to it- people praised him when they saw the water flowing but God rebuked him. With God, the end does not justify the means. God is both interested in the process as much as He is in the product. Leading my class was not conclusive proof that I had good sight- I was ...

Imagine a long, dark hallway with a series of doors on either side. Written on each one is the name of an addiction such as alcohol, tobacco, drugs, pornography, gambling, etc. Your teenager must walk down that hallway on their journey to adulthood, and their temptation to open those doors will be great. They can hear the beat of the music and the raucous laughter of their friends echoing from inside.  The pressure to join them can be enormous. And it’s very difficult to convince a fun-loving adolescent that they should stay in the dark hallway, which seems so boring and embarrassing.  Unfortunately for a certain percentage of individuals who open one or more of these doors, a tragedy begins to unfold. If a person is susceptible - and there’s no way to know in advance - he or she only has to crack the door an inch or two and a monster will run out and grab them.  And some will be held in its grip for life. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence.’ Hebrews 4:16 T he Bible says: ‘For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathise with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are - yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need’ (vv. 15-16 NIVUK 1984 Edition).  Dr Tony Evans says that God’s grace is like an ambulance coming to treat you when you’ve a medical emergency.  First, it dispenses immediate grace to your most serious symptoms. Then they slide you into the ambulance, which is equipped with more grace - more medical facilities to deal with your problem. 

Like joke , we are in the the 4th month of 2016! Please, when did we shout Happy New Year? Feels like yesterday. I got  both April Fool  and prophetic messages. I will share the prophetic blessing with you guys but not the April fool. The Joke was quite expensive.  Hope you won't be stingy with your blessing too.... lol.
