Let God
Is God involved in your plans?
Have you involved Him in your
decision making?
Have you relegated Him to the
background?
Do you trust more in your choices
than in His plans for you?
Is He the key decision making
factor or is He merely a spectator on the sidelines, watching and waiting to be
invited in?
What does it mean to let God?
It means that you are completely
handing over the reins/control of your life to God, to His will and for His
purpose. A perfect example of this is Abraham; in Genesis 12: 1 & 4, he
received an instruction from God which he obeyed.
It means, staying firm and
focused on the path of truth even when the odds are against you, even when
holding on to that truth seems like foolishness and may lead you nowhere. In
Daniel chapter 3, we read about Shedrach, Meshack and Abednego who totally
refused to bow to the graven image even when it was the obvious wise and safe
thing to do.
It means, giving God your very
best and not just anything. Gen 4: 4&5.
It means, putting God first in all
things even before your life.
Trusting God against all odds is
not an easy feat as it comes with challenges and difficulties.
-
Abel gave his very best and was killed by His
brother out of Jealousy.
-
Noah must have been ridiculed and laughed at for
building that ark.
-
Job was tormented by friends and family.
-
Joseph was sent to prison.
-
Daniel was tossed into the lions’ den.
-
The disciples faced all sorts of persecution.
When we fail to let God, mistakes
are inevitable:
-
Abraham’s failure to let God resulted in
Ishmael. Genesis 16:12
-
Samson’s failure to let God and he fell prey to
Delilah’s schemes.
-
Jonah refused to let God and he ended up in the
belly of a fish.
No matter how difficult or hard
letting God may be, the benefits are tremendous. When you let God,
-
His blessings are ours. Genesis 17: 3 – 8,
-
We are guaranteed His protection, guidance and
direction,
-
We fall beautifully in God’s plans for our lives
thereby ensuring good success.
When we let God, we are
guaranteed peace on earth, and an eternity with God.
