Tough times doesnt last....Tough people do

“Times are hard,” “times are hard” is the anthem on the lips of most Nigerians. The prices of commodities have skyrocketed. Everyone is adjusting his/her lifestyle and many businesses are closed down until further notice. Food has now become a prized and scarce commodity. Crime is on the rise and unheard cases of suicide is becoming the order of the day. People are just tired.
You can then imagine my pain upon seeing a nursing mother begging under the rain & late at night. Guess how much? Just N50 or food from the food vendor across the road! The worst is that most of the people she is begging from only have the option of trekking home famished and cashless.
My heart bleeds for my country. On a daily bases, one meets frustrated people roaming the street waiting for who to pounce on. Funny enough, only a punch sends them to an early grave and the culprit to Kirikiri prison.
So, where does this leave us Christians? Are we really not affected?
Of course we feel the physical and psychological impact but the  difference is that we have a God who urged us not fret or be dismayed…for He is with us wherever we go (Joshua 1:9).
Our heavenly Father did not promise that we will not face trials or tribulations. Rather, in the midst of the storm, he promised not leave or forsake us. True Christianity is not the absence of pain & trails (These only refines you like gold for eternal glory), but it is having peace of mind when facing it.
GOD always finds a way to turn our furnace into Air condition.  Do you remember when your last cash was in few hundreds of naira? Yet, you woke up with songs of praise in your heart. That is God with you.
He,  (YAHWEH) provided endless jars of oil for the Prophets widow to sell, pay her debts and feed her sons. He provided bread for the woman and her son throughout the famine. He fed Elisha for days in the wilderness using the raven. He fed the Israelites (thousands of people) for 40 years” without any form of farming or commerce from them. Our God caused Isaac to prosper in a famine land. He fed 5,000 people with just 5 loaves and 2 fishes.
So you tell me, has God changed in our generation? No, He has not!
Yes, times are hard, but if we cling to God and His promises, trust me, He will definitely come through for us. This is just a phase and it will pass too.

Few secrets of how to survive now:
1.       Cling unto God. Just trust and obey Him.
2.       Do not make money the determinant of your joy. Let God be the source of your joy always. Joy attracts good tidings but anger draws pain.
3.       Always remember Gods past great works especially when it seems too tight. It sure revives your spirit.
4.       Don’t struggle against the tide. Work, try your best but trust God more. Your success is of the Lord not your effort.
5.       Always see the positive side of everything and speak positively.
Don’t fall into temptations these especially now, it will only leave you worst. Always remember that the thoughts God have for you are thoughts of good and not of evil, to give you a future and an expected end Jer. 17:7. “…..he that promised is faithful to bring it to pass” Heb. 10:23
