Esteem...

Self-esteem is all about valuing yourself and positive appraisal of oneself. On the other hand, Low self-esteem has caused a lot of problem for 21st-century youths and has pushed many into depression, self-isolation and even suicide.

A typical scenario is that of a young guy who has been battling with self-esteem. He feels he is not smart, ugly always the odd one out. He can’t seem to fit in or be like every ” normal” teenager.  Sadly, he grew up hearing these negative words from loved ones. If they feel this way even with their faith, then how would strangers embrace me.
So,  he decides to keep to himself and shun the world and as the universe doesnt give room for space, he began to feel the ice grip of depression and no one to rely on. To him no one will understand, no one cares? Life became a nightmare, dark and cold.

Would you blame him? He believed the negative words and they became part of him. Every minutes he hears the voice, “You can never amount to anything good, you are a disappointment!” He gave up trying to improve in other areas of my life. What does it matter anyways?

Are you at that point now? Feeling dejected, rejected and lonely? Listen, God sent me to remind you of His words in Psalm 139:14, “I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, marvelous are your works, and that my soul knows very well”.  I guess most of us have forgotten that. Praise Him instead.
Always remember:
1. God's view about you: “I know the thoughts that I think towards you”, says the Lord, “thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” Jer 29:11. God's love is paramount and he is the greatest confident booster.
2. We are to lift one another: 1Thess 5:11, Phil 2:3, 4. When you see fellow youth looking sad, try to show concern, little kindness and love. Who knows,  you may save one soul that particular day.

3. Your perception of yourself:  You are created in the image of God. Therefore you have all the attributes of God. You are born to be great. We are all is created for different purposes, find yours and fulfill destiny. Stop wallowing in self-pity. God’s word is final and the only one that stand.
Remember Psalm 23 " Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death…” It’s a valley right, but you are meant to pass through it not get stuck there.

So, always have positive Opinion about yourself. Read the bible and build a relationship with God
