Guard your Garden

Not quite long, I listened to a sermon by Myles Monroe (of blessed memory) where he explained from the Bible that God created Adam and placed him in the garden ‘to work it and take care of it.’ (Genesis 2:15 NIV) before even giving him a help meet.
I have seen many promising marriages crack and crumble because both parties were carried away with other pressing issues, forgetting the mandate ‘to work it and take care of it (the garden, their home).’

But, the fact still remains that even the most beautiful garden in the world, if unattended brings forth weeds and thorns instead of nice scented flowers and mouthwatering Fruits.  Yes, you’ve got to build a career to cater for your family but their spiritual needs is of paramount importance. It controls the physical. Do bear in mind that the serpent lucks around every garden if given chance it sneaks in to steal, kill and destroy.

If you look closely, you might see traces of his work in your young family. The constant bickering, anger, quarrels, little time for prayers, the total absence of family time, and so much more. The devil places them there to make sure you both become worn out and lose focus because together, you are a formidable force.

This is a call for action. “Watch and pray " to be able to guard and Protect your home jealously as commanded by God. Don’t let the fire in your alter ever go off. Groom your home to be a safe place and not where you escape from and then build a home where Christ is the King, Lord, and Father.
Please do all you can to expose your children to God's word creatively. If you’ve noticed, this generation easily gets bored especially with Godly matters. The Holy Spirit will surely give you all things that pertain to Life and Godliness if you ask.  Their generation need not be like that in Gideon’s time which did not know God or his wonderful works.

Understand that Parenthood is a ministry which you must not fail in. Rather, put aside all forms of selfishness and a misplaced priority and build a happy home. To the single, Please start imbibing the virtues in order to have a happy home. It attracts Gods favour.  May your home blossom like the Rose.

Prayer: Father, please give us the grace to carry out this assignment and make our homes a peaceful, happy and blessed homes in Jesus name, Amen!
