Kaleidoscope Resolve... A New Year Classic!

Image
We are grateful to God for keeping all promises His to us as a church in the last year. 2018 is finally here with Loads of blessing.  The beginning of every year happens to be a time when most of us draw out NEW resolutions forgetting that we lost sight of our last resolve mid-way into the year.

Ode to Sleep

Image
Warm, soft, unassuming but in you lies the weapon of surrender. In your embrace mighty men crumble, kings rendered powerless Queens beckon for your touch, in it is the beauty of womanhood: beauty and strength you resonate. In the lurking terror of the dark , you shield the mind from worry and fear In the blackness and loneliness of the night, you soothe the heart in comfort. Oh! What a lovely sight you are to behold; the great lover of all. Your care defies gender You love both men and women alike…gentle is your touch soft is your kiss warm is your embrace No wonder your name is laced on every lip seeking rest from life’s innumerable and inevitable troubles. Oh dear! What tragedy it would’ve been without you.

Dangers of Leadership

Image
Over the years, I’ve heard preachers mention that if care is not taken most church leaders, great men and women of God might not be seen at the Lambs Marriage Super.  Meaning technically, that they will end up in hell. Leaders of great repute who mankind have christened “Holy”. Why? Is that even possible? They dine and wine with the Lord. Always speaking Gods' mind and winning souls into the kingdom of God. How then will they be cast out? Don't be angry, I have been asking lots of questions lately and this is what the Spirit of God told me.

Peace

Scenarios 1: Ayo’s a pregnant mum with 3 kids, juggling 3 jobs and no father in the picture but with perfect peace. Scenario 2: Bella’s the Choir mistress in her church admired by everyone. She has the perfect husband, perfect kids and her dream job-  a project manager in a multinational Stock Broking company which gives her enough at home time with her family. Yet she has no peace whatsoever and highly depressed. By earthly and most likely medical standards Bella shouldn't enjoy inner peace. But perfect peace is not something that is gotten or achieved on the basis how rightly your environment or the people around you treat you. On the contrary perfect peace is only achieved in God. Isaiah 23:3-4 says; " Thou will keep in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee; because he trusteth in thee.  Trust ye in the lord forever; for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strengt...

Anxiety attacks

Image
Can I really do this? Am I good enough? Will this project work out? Can I ever get this job/contract? How would I know the right man?  These and other undisclosed intimate questions have been fighting for a space in my mind lately breeding fear, worry and anxiety. I do understand and believe that I have a father who cares greatly for me. I Peter 5 vs 7 spells it out “ cast all our burdens on him because He cares ” but why do I still worry about life issues? Why do I get depressed when am not going at the pace I planned or getting the desired results? Why does it seem like a dead end sometimes?  It’s simply because I still wear my pride like a badge and cherish it. Pride and Anxiety come in a full package. What’s the correlation between the two words Anxiety and Pride, you may ask? Just look at the two words, what is the letter in the middle of both of them “I”. A symbol of self. The truth is that you are anxious because you bear burdens not meant for you. Phil 4 ...

The Prince of Peace

Image
There were many pieces of furniture in the tabernacle, and each served a different purpose. But there wasn’t a single seat. Do you know why?  Because the priest’s work was never finished! The people sinned constantly, so lambs had to be constantly sacrificed to atone for their sins. However, when Jesus died, rose again and went back to heaven, the first thing He did was sit down (see Hebrews 10:12). That’s because the work of salvation was finished! The Bible says: ‘Christ did not have to offer himself many times. He wasn’t like a high priest who goes into the holiest place each year to offer the blood of an animal …instead…he offered himself once and for all, so that he could be a sacrifice that does away with sin’ (Hebrews 9:25-26 CEV).
